Welcome to the Dover Little League (NY) website!

Dover Little League is a non-profit organization which has promoted fair play, team work and skill-building through baseball and softball programs for the last 58 years!  For boys and girls ages 5-14, Dover Little League offers free winter baseball and softball clinics, the most up-to-date equipment (including pitching machines) for the lowest fees in the area!

We have an urgent need for volunteers to work at the concession stand at Boyce Park, both during weeknight games and on the weekends.  We need not just kids looking for community service hours, but parents who want to get their volunteer checks back while helping Dover Little League continue to provide their children with a place to play baseball and softball well into the next decade and beyond.  Please click HERE to schedule two hours to volunteer.

A Beautiful Start to 2008!

For the first time in a long time, Dover Little League's Opening Day was greeted with sun and warm weather instead of rain.  Though the morning began overcast and windy, the sun soon broke through the clouds, warming the fields and chasing the shivers and chills that threatened to dampen the spirits of all our young ballplayers.

Beginning with a parade that started at the Ketcham Fire House, players from the ages of 4 through 12 marched down Route 22 and into Boyce Park, gathering on the softball field for the pledge of allegiance and the introduction of all teams from T-Ball to Junior level.  After former Dover Little League First Lady Kristine Daversa threw out of the first pitch, the cry of 'Play Ball!' rang across the field, marking the official start to the Dover 2008 Little League season.  For more Opening Day pictures, click here!

Volunteers Needed for Boyce Park Concession Stand

It's that time of the year again, when the concession stand at Boyce Park needs volunteers to help run it.  At the end of the year, Dover Little League can only continue to survive if the concession stand is open every game (the alternative would be large, large increases in registration fees, which no one wants).  Not only would you be helping the League tremendously, but just two hours in the concession stand is enough to get you a refund for your volunteer fee!

There are four ways to volunteer:
1. Email doverbb@doverbaseball.net and tell us what day(s) you want to man the stand;
2. Click on the "League Calendar" link to the left, pick a day on the calendar and fill out the form;
3. Call the hotline at 845-832-2725 and tell us what day(s) you want to volunteer;
4. Sign up at the concession stand the next time you're at a game at Boyce.

Pick one.  Help the League.  Get your Volunteer Fee back.  It's that simple!

Mr. Met Comes To Dover!

With his broad smile and very large head, Mr. Met graced the Dover High School gymnasium on behalf of Dover Little League last Monday night.  There was a tremendous turn-out to see the New York Met mascot, as little boys and girls  (and some big boys and girls, too!) had their pictures taken with and had autographs signed by the future Mascot Hall-of-Fame inductee!

Please click here to see some pictures of Mr. Met, players, fans, parents and board members!

Now that registration is officially closed, we expect team practices to begin the beginning of April (after the fields have been prepared and opened by the town).  Opening Day is April 26.  See you then!

Volunteers Needed for Boyce Park Field Setup, Saturday April 5th at 10am

Volunteers are needed for the annual field-set up (raising the nets on the batting cages and on the portable backstops) down at Boyce Park, next Saturday at 10am.  Please volunteer your time for this important event (and get your volunteer time out of the way before the season even starts!).
